The Public Security Police (PSP) and the National Republican Guard (GNR) carried out a selective inspection operation of road passenger transport in TVDE regime between November 13 and 17, which led to the inspection of 1,444 drivers, resulting in 569 administrative offense reports.
In a statement, the PSP stated that 61 of the inspected drivers did not have a written contract to prove their employment relationship with the TVDE operator.
In addition, the authorities also recorded 89 infractions related to work organization and registration of driving and rest times; 11 for using a TVDE vehicle without an identifying sticker; 19 for using a TVDE vehicle with an identifying sticker without being affixed under the regulatory conditions; 9 for exercising the activity of a TVDE operator without a license, and 13 for using a TVDE vehicle that has not undergone mandatory periodic inspection one year after the date of first registration.
In the press release sent to the media, the PSP emphasizes that “combating road accidents is a strategic priority for the security forces and should be the focus of enforcement actions carried out throughout the year, with the aim of providing better road safety on the roads within their area of responsibility and ensuring the effectiveness and quality of the service provided to the population, reinforcing the importance and legitimacy of their actions.”
The PSP’s note also states that the Safe TVDE operation had the collaboration of the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT), the Mobility and Transport Institute (IMT), and the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), which recorded 147 infractions.
