Ales Loprais was the winner of the 11th stage of the Dakar 2024 in trucks on Thursday. He surpassed the leader of the classification, Martin Macik, who still maintains a wide margin at the entrance of the last day.
With the colors of Instaforex Loprais Praga, Loprais set the pace in the stage clearly, being 5m07s faster than Macik (MM Technology Team/Iveco). The third was Jaroslav Valtr, in a positive day for Tatra Buggyra ZM Racing that placed their other truck, driven by Pascal de Baar, in fourth. Both were more than half an hour behind the top. Janus van Kasteren (Boss Machinery Team de Rooy FPT/Iveco) achieved the fifth best time.
Nothing seems to threaten Macik’s victory: one day from the end, the Czech has a 2h01m01s margin over compatriot Loprais, while Mitchel van den Brink (Eurol Rallysport/Iveco), van Kasteren, and Vick Versteijnen (Versteijnen Truck Racing/Iveco) remain solid in that order between third and fifth places.
