Sébastien Loeb obtained his fourth victory in the Dakar 2024 on Tuesday and continues to have a chance to fight for the title – having approached the overall classification leadership.
In a close race, the Frenchman in a Prodrive Hunter from Bahrain Raid Xtreme prevailed in the end against Carlos Sainz (Audi) by 4m14s. In third place was the surprising Mathieu Serradori (Century Racing) at 4m43s. They were followed by two Toyotas, Guillaume de Mevius (Overdrive Racing) and rookie Guy David Botterill representing the official team.
In the overall standings, Sainz continues to lead, now 20m33s ahead of Loeb. Lucas Moraes (Toyota) lost some time but remains in third place, with Mevius in fourth. Serradori rose to fifth, taking advantage of the delays of Giniel de Villiers (Toyota) and Martin Prokop (Orlen Jipocar/Ford).
It is worth mentioning that Portuguese navigator Paulo Fiúza, with driver Vaidotas Zala (X-Raid Arijus Team), had problems with the MINI for the second consecutive day. The duo had been out of the top ten fight yesterday and today they were forced to abandon.
