Toyota atualiza bZ4X que ganha mais potência e maior autonomia

Toyota has decided to refresh the bZ4X, the brand’s 100% electric model, which now offers more power, greater range, and faster charging.

Originally launched in 2022, the electric SUV bZ4X now receives its first mid-cycle update, offering two battery options: one of 57.7 kWh and another of 73.1 kWh, allowing for a range of up to 573 km (provisional value pending approval), depending on the version and powertrain.

In terms of powertrain, Toyota’s compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient eAxle system (electric motor and transmission) has also been improved. It now uses silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors. For the domestic market, two front-wheel-drive powertrains are planned: the entry-level version with the 57.7 kWh battery, powering a 167 hp electric motor, and a version equipped with the larger 73.1 kWh battery that powers a 224 hp motor.

The refreshed bZ4X is still equipped as standard with the battery pre-heating function, which ensures the ideal temperature for charging, thereby allowing for greater charging power. This function can be activated manually or automatically when driving the bZ4X towards a fast charging station.

Additionally, Toyota has equipped the refreshed 100% electric SUV with a new 22 kW AC onboard charger (in the higher-spec version). The maximum charging power in DC remains at 150 kW.

Toyota has also enhanced the exterior and interior design of the bZ4X, which now features a more elegant front with improved aerodynamics. The interior has been completely updated and includes a new central console to facilitate the use of digital devices and a new instrument panel design, with a 14’’ multimedia screen installed as standard. Furthermore, the refreshed bZ4X also benefits from lower noise and vibration levels, as well as improved comfort and driving dynamics.

Toyota has also announced that the first units of the refreshed bZ4X are expected to arrive in the national market in September.
