After several months of speculation and rumors, Toyota seems ready to move forward with the production of the new off-road model, designed to rival the Suzuki Jimny.
Toyota has not revealed the name of the new model, which will be based on the mini Land Cruiser concept that is not yet known, but apparently everything points to it being called Land Cruiser FJ.
The Japanese specialized press points out that Toyota is expected to start production of the new model in November, in Thailand, and that sales are expected to start in early 2025.
Everything indicates that the Compact Cruiser will be based on the new e-TNGA platform from Toyota, which is specific for 100% electric models. However, rumors suggest that the new model may also come with combustion engine versions and plug-in hybrid variants.
Considering the concept revealed in 2022, it is expected that the small Land Cruiser will have a compact and muscular appearance with straight lines, a square body, and pronounced wheel arches.
