Toyota Invasion Imminent: Brad Jones Racing Set to Shake Up 2026 Supercars Season

Brad Jones Racing, a prominent team in the Supercars championship, is on the brink of a major switch that could shake up the racing world for the 2026 season. Speculations are running wild as team owner Brad Jones hinted at a possible move to Toyota during a media address in Taupo, New Zealand, ahead of the third round of the 2025 championship.

Although Brad Jones did not officially confirm the transition from the team’s current Chevrolet Camaros to Toyota, his ambiguous statements have fueled rumors of the impending switch. “I’m just looking at what’s available and then at some point in the not-too-distant future I’ll make a decision,” Jones stated, keeping fans and experts on the edge of their seats.

Toyota’s entry into the Supercars series next season has already made waves, with Walkinshaw Andretti United spearheading the development of the GR Supra for the Japanese manufacturer. Initially planning to run four cars, joining forces with Brad Jones Racing could potentially see Toyota expanding its presence on the grid to six cars, presenting a significant power shift in the championship.

Brad Jones emphasized his commitment to running four cars, highlighting the operational efficiency and success of the current model. The team, rooted in Albury, New South Wales, boasts a rich history dating back 40 years, with Brad Jones and his brother Kim laying the foundation for the racing powerhouse.

Over the years, Brad Jones Racing has seen brand affiliations with Ford and Holden, with a notable stint with Mitsubishi and Audi in past racing categories. The potential move to Toyota for the 2026 season marks a new chapter for the team, promising thrilling competition and fresh dynamics in the Supercars arena.

As the racing world eagerly awaits Brad Jones Racing’s official decision, the looming prospect of a Toyota alliance has set the stage for an electrifying 2026 Supercars season. Stay tuned for more updates as the racing saga unfolds.
