Toto Wolff sugere que Max Verstappen é o responsável pelas vitórias da Red Bull.

Toto Wolff emphasized that Max Verstappen has been the driving force behind Red Bull’s success in the 2024 Formula 1 season, having won seven races so far. Despite facing strong competition from other drivers, Verstappen has maintained a significant advantage in the championship. Wolff, the head of the Mercedes team, acknowledged that Red Bull may struggle to win without the current world champion.

Wolff responded to comments suggesting that Mercedes would not be able to hire Verstappen, expressing his determination to continue pursuing the talented driver. He stated that Mercedes aims to finish the 2024 season on a high, with strong performances from their team. Wolff hoped that this success would persuade Verstappen to consider joining the Silver Arrows in the future.

Furthermore, Toto Wolff argued that it is Verstappen’s individual skills that have led to his victories, rather than the overall strength of the Red Bull team. While acknowledging the quality of the RB20 car, Wolff highlighted that Verstappen’s results demonstrate that without him, the Milton Keynes team would struggle to maintain their success at the top of motorsport.

Mercedes has faced challenges in keeping up with Red Bull and McLaren in the era of Formula 1’s ground effect. The Silver Arrows have struggled to match the pace of development of their competitors. However, the recent races have shown signs of improvement for the Mercedes team, with George Russell admitting that he should have won the Canadian GP.

Toto Wolff highlighted the team’s previous issues with the correlation between on-track performance and wind tunnel data, which persisted for nearly two years. However, since the introduction of updates, the performance of the W15 car has improved. Wolff acknowledged that these were incremental steps, but they have had a positive impact on the team’s prospects.

Undoubtedly, Toto Wolff is eager to challenge Max Verstappen and Red Bull for victories in the upcoming races. The Mercedes team seems to be interested in securing Verstappen’s services in the future, but that will depend on his ability to consistently surpass Red Bull and the rest of the competition.
