Toto Wolff sugere que Jos Verstappen poderia ser uma boa opção para a Mercedes apesar dos comentários de Christian Horner.

Mercedes responds to Red Bull’s mockery regarding the hiring of Jos Verstappen

Toto Wolff, the head of Mercedes, engaged in a war of words with Red Bull’s Christian Horner regarding their commitment to Milton Keynes. Horner made a lighthearted comment suggesting that only Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen’s father, would be available to join the Mercedes team.

In response, Toto Wolff dismissed Christian Horner’s comments, stating that he had not personally heard them and considered them unworthy of attention. Wolff expressed his disagreement with Horner’s belief that Jos Verstappen would be detrimental to Mercedes, instead hinting that Verstappen’s father could bring value to the team.

Wolff emphasized that Mercedes is currently focused on improving their own performance. He acknowledged the importance of having a fast car to attract top drivers like Max Verstappen. Recognizing that Mercedes is not currently performing at their best, Wolff indicated that their goal is to enhance their speed and performance to become an attractive option for drivers like Verstappen in the future.

In a recent interview, Mercedes’ engineering director revealed that Lewis Hamilton had suffered damage to the floor of his car, which affected his performance and left him disappointed. Hamilton felt that his car did not have enough grip at high speeds to maximize his speed on the track. The team plans to work overnight to analyze these issues and make the necessary improvements to both cars for the Sprint Race.

Furthermore, the team aims to score decent points in the morning sprint race as valuable preparation for the main race on Sunday. Their focus is to understand how their cars behave over longer distances, gathering crucial data to optimize their race strategy for the main event.

Andrew Shovlin, an important figure at Mercedes, expressed his belief that Lewis Hamilton would have performed exceptionally well if it weren’t for the damaged floor. The team is actively addressing the issues and making improvements to their car. Fans are eagerly anticipating the sprint race and the main race on Sunday, as Mercedes has been providing fierce competition in recent events.
