Toto Wolff nega que Hamilton inveje o sucesso da Ferrari na F1.

Lewis Hamilton, British driver of Mercedes AMG F1, took part in the drivers’ parade during the Australian Grand Prix, the third stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, Australia, on March 24, 2024, race day.

Toto Wolff, head of the Mercedes Formula 1 team, is confident that Lewis Hamilton is not showing interest in Ferrari, despite the different situations of his current team and his future team. Mercedes had a difficult start to the season, accumulating only 26 points after three races, which is the worst performance since 2011. Hamilton has faced difficulties with the inconsistent performance of his Mercedes W15 car, which resulted in his 11th place in qualifying and his subsequent retirement from the race due to an engine failure. On the other hand, Ferrari took advantage of Max Verstappen’s retirement to secure a one-two finish, with Carlos Sainz leading Charles Leclerc. Despite Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025, Wolff denied any signs of disinterest on the part of the British driver.

When asked how the drivers are dealing with the team’s difficulties, Wolff praised their commitment. He acknowledged that Hamilton is frustrated with the team’s difficulties, but also recognizes the positive things happening at Ferrari. However, Hamilton’s main focus remains on Mercedes and finding solutions to their problems. As for George Russell, Wolff described him as a determined fighter who knows his place in the team. It is evident that both drivers are fully committed to solving the problems they are facing.

Hamilton’s performance in the first three races of the season has been disappointing, earning only eight points and putting him in 10th place in the Drivers’ Championship. He considers this his worst start to a season in F1 so far. Despite this, Hamilton remains optimistic about the rest of the season and expresses gratitude for his time in Australia. He continues to enjoy working with his Mercedes engineers and is determined to fight for victories and finish the races. Although it is frustrating to travel to a race and not complete it, Hamilton believes that the team will recover and gradually improve their performance.
