Mercedes has accumulated a total of 124 points in the Constructors’ Championship, showcasing their recent progress in Formula 1 races. The W15, their racing car, unexpectedly started challenging the leading teams, making the upcoming Spanish GP an exciting opportunity for the Mercedes team. In the Canadian GP, the team secured a strong third and fourth place, with one of their drivers even securing pole position for the demanding 70-lap Grand Prix. These developments have brought optimism to Mercedes and their team principal, Toto Wolff, who eagerly awaits the race at the 4.657 km Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Wolff’s enthusiasm for the upcoming three-day event is evident, as he hopes to build upon the team’s recent success, especially in the Montreal race. However, he emphasizes the importance of maintaining a competitive mindset and not becoming complacent. According to Wolff, in order to consistently challenge at the front, Mercedes must continue to strive until the end of the 2024 season.

Currently, the Brackley-based team occupies fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship. After nine rounds, they have accumulated 124 points, trailing behind McLaren in third place with 212 points. This highlights the need for Mercedes drivers, including George Russell, and the entire team to diligently work towards overtaking McLaren in the standings.
