Estre guia Porsche para os dois primeiros lugares na sessão da tarde do teste de Le Mans

On June 9, 2024, during the Test Day of the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, Kevin Estre emerged as the leader in the afternoon session. Driving the Porsche #6, Estre clocked a time of 3:26.907, securing the first position. Felipe Nasr, in the Porsche #4, closely followed, trailing the Frenchman by just 0.235 seconds, resulting in a Porsche one-two. Brendon Hartley, in the Toyota GR010 Hybrid #8, claimed third place, finishing just over seven tenths of a second behind Estre. Michael Christensen, in the Porsche #5, took fourth place, setting the car’s best time of 3:27.773. The Ferrari #50, driven by Mugel Molina, secured fifth place, trailing Estre by 1.107 seconds.

During the session, there were two red flags. The first occurred when Stephane Richelmi, in the Vector Sport Oreca 07-Gibson #10, went off track at Indianapolis after 46 minutes. The second red flag was caused by Kamui Kobayashi, in the Toyota #7, also going off track at Indianapolis with five minutes remaining in the session, bringing it to an end.

In the LMP2 category, Oliver Jarvis, in the United Autosports Oreca 07-Gibson #22, set the fastest time of 3:34.704, beating Olli Caldwell, in the Algarve Pro Racing Oreca #25, by a significant 1.277 seconds. James Allen, in the Duqueine Oreca 07-Gibson #30, took third place, trailing Caldwell by four tenths of a second.

Lastly, in the LMGT3 class, Sebastien Baud, in the TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3.R #82, posted the fastest time of 3:59.883. Alex Riberas, in the Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 #27, secured second place, just 0.027 seconds behind Baud. Augusto Farfus, in the WRT BMW M4 GT3 #31, matched Riberas’ lap time, securing third place for the WRT team.
