Mazda has just launched the new SP-MX5, a pair of sneakers that are the third piece of the Mazda Roadster Collection, which celebrates the 35th anniversary of the iconic model from the Japanese brand.
Crafted with care, this SP-MX5 is the result of a partnership between Mazda and the Japanese company Spingle, which produced the sneakers inspired by the style of the small convertible.

For their development, the partners visited their respective factories and museums, sharing their values and thoughts, leading to the creation, after about two years of work, of these special collaborative sneakers that combine the appeal of the different worlds of automobiles and footwear.
The new sneakers reflect the simple and attractive shape of the Mazda Roadster, having been designed to gently conform to the curvature of the users’ feet, showcasing beautiful lines from any angle, just like the style of Mazda’s two-seater model.
Produced using the vulcanization method and high-quality materials, they reflect one of the development philosophies of the Roadster model: softness. The materials used in the upper section are light, soft, and durable, reinforcing their connection with the low-thickness sole through suede, for greater flexibility and ensuring that the outer structure is suitable for driving.

There are four compositions of vibrant colors – red/white, navy/blue, white/black, black/orange – inspired by shades once used in the model, featuring a detail at the bottom of the sole, an engraving of the iconic number “5” that adds a touch of fun.
These new anniversary sneakers of the MX-5 are available in seven sizes, from 22.5 cm (XS) to 28.5 cm (XL), following Spingle’s usual unisex alignment.
The Spingle SP-MX5 has a recommended price of ¥26,500, which is about €160 (excluding shipping costs to Portugal, customs clearance, and others), and can be purchased on the “Mazda Collection Online Shop” and/or on the “Spingle Official Online Store“.
