Hyundai’s Dominance in the WRC Confirmed for 2026 and Beyond

In a thrilling turn of events for rally fans worldwide, Hyundai’s presence in the World Rally Championship (WRC) is set to continue for the foreseeable future. Despite no official announcement yet, inside sources from the service park in Sardinia have revealed that Hyundai is gearing up for an exciting journey in the WRC, at least until 2026.

Rumors and speculations have been rife regarding Hyundai’s commitment to the prestigious championship, but recent high-level meetings have brought about a sense of clarity and assurance for the upcoming seasons. Cyril Abiteboul, the President and Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport, hinted at the team’s unwavering dedication to the rally program, stating, “I want to be optimistic… I’m positive we’ll find a compelling reason to stay committed to the sport next year.”

The suspense surrounding Hyundai’s future in the WRC has kept fans and experts on the edge of their seats. However, insiders now confidently assert that Hyundai will indeed be a powerhouse in the WRC for the next season. Thierry Neuville, the reigning world champion, cautiously expressed his optimism, indicating a positive shift in the team’s outlook.

Putting an end to swirling rumors, Abiteboul dismissed talks of a semi-works team running Hyundai’s WRC campaign in 2026. He emphasized Hyundai’s commitment to maintaining a top-tier manufacturer-level program, ensuring that the team operates at its peak performance with a full-fledged lineup of cars and dedicated staff.

As Hyundai gears up for the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead in the WRC, enthusiasts can expect nothing short of exhilarating performances and fierce competition from the Korean powerhouse on the rally stages. Hyundai’s dominance in the WRC seems not only secure for 2026 but also promises an electrifying spectacle for seasons to come. Get ready for a thrilling ride as Hyundai revs up for another chapter of WRC glory!
