Nio will launch its new sub-brand, Firefly, in 2025 in Europe, with the release of the first 100% electric model expected by the end of the first semester.
Firefly is the name of Nio’s new brand and its first model, a compact electric hatchback aimed at young drivers, which will be launched in China as early as April, followed by European markets in the subsequent months, where it aims to compete with the BYD Dolphin, as well as the VW ID.3 and the Smart #1.
The new Firefly promises to be a low-cost 100% electric model, and it is already known that in the Chinese market, this 100% electric model will start at €19,000.
Nio has not yet revealed details about this new Firefly, which was designed in Munich, Germany, by a team led by Kris Tomasson, a former BMW employee. It features retractable door handles, a trunk with a capacity of 1250 liters with the rear seats folded down, autonomous parking that utilizes technology developed by Nio, as well as a turning radius of 4.7 meters.
