The premium sub-brand of BYD, Yangwang, announced this Monday that it will present and open the reservation period, in China, for the new luxury SUV, the U8L Dingshi Edition, already next Thursday, June 31.
The model is a luxury executive SUV, featuring a logo made of pure 24K gold, and an interior with six seats, thus positioning itself as one of the boldest luxury models in the Chinese market.
The U8L Dingshi Edition measures 5.40 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 3.25 m, meaning it is larger than the U8, launched in September 2023, by 200 mm between the axles and provides dimensions that facilitate the opulent 2+2+2 cabin layout, focused on the comfort of rear passengers.
The Yangwang U8L is expected to maintain the configuration of four electric motors with 1180 hp of power and a maximum torque of 1280 Nm, powered by a 2.0T range extender.
Yangwang debuted the U8L Dingshi Edition at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025, stating at the time that the new SUV would reach the Chinese market in the second half of this year.
It is worth noting that BYD recently announced that the premium sub-brand, Yangwang, will enter the European market next year with a range of high-performance and technologically advanced models.
