The Volvo EX30 is the first compact SUV from the Swedish brand, launched with the mission of significantly increasing electric vehicle sales. In this regard, in 2024, its first year of sales, the model achieved impressive numbers, with nearly 100,000 units sold globally.
Revealing the success of the small electric model, Volvo is already preparing a Cross Country variant, which is expected to hit the market next summer.
The most radical version of Volvo’s electric SUV thus revives the brand’s most adventurous badge, first launched in 1990 with the V70 wagon.
As expected, the Cross Country variant of the Volvo EX30 will arrive with an off-road appearance, featuring more radical details, including increased ground clearance, black 18’’ wheels, a front section reinforced with plastic protections, along with a storage area on the roof.
Regarding the powertrain, it is expected that this Cross Country version of the EX30 will feature two electric motors, thus providing all-wheel drive. It is anticipated that the new variant of the EX30 will offer the same configuration as the Twin Motor Performance variant, which has two electric motors and delivers 428 hp of power, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reaching a top speed of 180 km/h.
