Toyota FT-Se: futuro desportivo 100% elétrico apresentado na Europa

Toyota seems ready to move forward with the production of the 100% electric two-seater concept car named FT-Se, a high-performance model that could arrive in 2027.

This is not the first time that the Japanese press has reported that the FT-Se will enter production; however, “Best Car” now states that the 100% electric version will be accompanied by a combustion engine variant.

This more purist version may be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 400 hp and all-wheel drive. This variant could arrive in 2026, ahead of the launch of the 100% electric version.

Revealed last year during Toyota’s Kenshiki forum in Brussels, the FT-Se is a model created by the Japanese brand’s sports division, which anticipates the brand’s sporting future, incorporating the experience gained by GAZOO Racing to create increasingly better cars through its involvement in motorsport.

With a height of just 1.22 meters and a width of 1.89 m, the GT-Se concept evokes memories of classic sports cars from the past. Measuring 4380 mm in length, it stands out with its aerodynamic lines, distinct trapezoidal shapes, and evocative rear spoiler.

Furthermore, it is known that Toyota intends to equip this model with the latest generation of batteries, which are low in height and high in energy density, a determining factor for the FT-Se to push the limits of performance. This technology, combined with the reduction in size and weight of components such as the engine, transmission, and air conditioning unit, opens up new possibilities for advancing the traditional qualities of sports cars, such as stable cornering ability, agile handling, and confident braking.
