The Tesla Semi is one of the most anticipated electric heavy-duty vehicles in the US, but so far, the production of this model seems to be far from on track.
However, the American brand led by Elon Musk revealed at the beginning of this week that the Semi will start rolling off the assembly line at the Gigafactory in Nevada by the end of 2025, thus ensuring service to American freight carriers.
In a video published on YouTube, Dan Priestley, who leads the Semi program at Tesla, revealed the company’s plans to produce 50,000 units of the model annually.
“The first units should be on the production line by the end of this year, and we will be expanding the factory throughout 2026”, said Dan Priestley.
However, it is worth noting that the story of the Tesla Semi is long and full of delays, as the initial forecast pointed to the start of production in 2019, with a capacity of 50,000 units expected to be reached by 2024.
We can only hope that this time it will finally move forward and that the Tesla Semi can advance to the production line.
