Debating who the best Formula 1 drivers are never leads to firm conclusions – opinions tend to be divided and even the results are not an absolute certainty regarding the worth of each one in a sport where the car dictates a lot of the performance.
Andrea Stella, team principal of McLaren, pointed out who he believes are the best drivers currently… leaving seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) out of the top three.
In an interview with DAZN, the Italian stated: ‘My three best drivers with the same cars would be Max [Verstappen], Lando [Norris], and Fernando [Alonso].’
About Norris, a McLaren driver, Stella highlighted his speed in races and tire management, while in Alonso, he sees the most complete driver currently, without any weaknesses.
