The largest low-cost fuel station network in Spain, Petroprix, has just arrived in Portugal with the opening of its first self-service station in Águeda.
The Aveiro district was chosen to host the first of 50 new stations that the Spanish company, founded in 2013, plans to inaugurate in the country over the next two years.
Petroprix’s entry into the national market comes a year later than expected, which is explained by bureaucracy. “It’s not unusual, as in Spain, licenses take a long time, and the same is happening to us in Portugal”, explains Jaime Vega de Seoane, business development director of Petroprix, in statements to “Negócios.”
However, the low-cost fuel station network arrives in the national market with a bonus, as drivers only need to register on the brand’s app to receive three liters of free fuel, which can be claimed at any of the brand’s stations.
The opening of the second fuel station in the country is scheduled for next October, which will be located in Covilhã, in the district of Castelo Branco.
