The return of the GTI. What if Peugeot responded to the revival of the Renault 5?

O regresso dos GTI. E se a Peugeot respondesse ao renascimento do Renault 5?

The Renault 5 electric is scheduled for release in 2024 and is the manufacturer’s proposal to democratize BEVs, while bringing back the iconic aura of mythical editions, such as the one that was the flagship of the 2nd generation of the R5, called Super 5. The GT Turbo sports version was, in itself, a generational symbol, designed by Italian stylist Marcello Gandini and presented in 1985, with a Garrett T2 turbo that ‘boosted’ the 1.4 engine to 115 hp.

At Peugeot, the answer is called 205, a model that, since its launch in 1983, has been proposed with four gasoline engines and one diesel engine and has seen the range expanded to include the legendary GTI, with a 1.6 engine and 105 hp, and Turbo 16, as well as a 3-door body.

And what if the lion brand resurrected “sacré numéro” for the new electric era.
