Outlander PHEV Night Seeker é o concept inspirado no “Metal Gear Solid”

Mitsubishi has confirmed its presence at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan, where it will showcase a set of modified versions of the Triton pickup and the Delica D:5 minivan, in addition to a special version of the Outlander PHEV SUV, inspired by the video game “Metal Gear Solid.”

This concept, named “Night Seeker Concept,” is based on the new generation of the Outlander PHEV, which will hit the national market at the end of February. It features a customized design, with a body painted in dark camouflage tones and Metal Gear Solid graphics, giving it the appearance of a military vehicle.

Ready for tougher terrains, this “Night Seeker Concept” is equipped with a set of special accessories, notably a type of visor placed at the front that protects the grille and headlights, along with larger wheels featuring armored-looking covers.

From the side, the Outlander “Night Seeker Concept” features fender extensions with a matte finish that matches the customized roof rack.

Mitsubishi has not revealed any updates to the chassis or performance for this special version of the Outlander PHEV, which is expected to use the updated plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with two high-power electric motors and a larger lithium-ion battery, increasing power compared to its predecessor by approximately 40%. This battery now has a capacity of 22.7 kWh, meaning the new model has an all-electric range of up to 87 km (WLTP cycle).

The front-mounted electric motor produces 116 hp and 255 Nm, while the rear unit provides 136 hp and 195 Nm of torque. This unit is now smaller in size thanks to an integrated motor control unit. The total system ensures a combined power output of 302 hp and 400 Nm.
