Novo VW T-Roc é um dos destaques do salão de Munique

VW will take advantage of its presence at the Munich Motor Show in Germany to present to the public the second generation of the T-Roc, one of the brand’s best-selling models, produced at the Autoeuropa factory in Palmela, Portugal.

The new generation of the crossover, based on the Golf, presents an evolutionary leap that is evident at first glance, thanks to a powerful and refined design. It retains the characteristic DNA of the T-Roc, with a coupé-like silhouette at the rear, making the most of the additional 12 cm of total length compared to the previous model. The more generous proportions allow the new T-Roc to showcase a more dynamic and expressive design.

The front section is updated and plays an important role in the new interpretation of the T-Roc. The new LED headlights are standard. The IQ.LIGHT LED Matrix headlights are available as an option in the Style and R-Line versions and are connected to the VW logo illuminated by a narrow light strip.

The profile also features novelties with original lines, which, however, clearly show that we have T-Roc DNA. The redesigned body has improved aerodynamics by 10%, with a drag coefficient of 0.29 cx. At the rear of the T-Roc, it is also highlighted by the continuous LED bar with the VW logo illuminated in red.

The interior has been significantly improved and presents premium quality, with smooth surfaces and innovative technologies. For example, the dashboard is covered with a newly developed fabric, which, along with ambient lighting, creates a lounge-style atmosphere.

In addition, the new T-Roc adopts various functionalities from the Tiguan and Tayron models, such as the latest evolution of driving experience control, which allows, among other functions, the selection of driving profiles and volume control. A novelty in the T-Roc – and also in its segment – is the head-up display projected onto the windshield, which displays important information, such as speed or navigation pictograms, directly in the driver’s field of vision, and is available as an option.

In terms of space, the new generation of the T-Roc reinforces its family image, with more space for passengers in the rear seat, thanks to the additional 12 cm in the length of the new T-Roc.

In addition, an ergoActive seat with 14 ways of electric adjustment and a massage function will be available for the first time in the T-Roc, in the Style version. The trunk volume increases by 30 liters, totaling 475 liters when loaded up to the height of the rear seatbacks.

The new T-Roc is the third SUV from VW to be based on the latest evolutionary phase of the modular transverse matrix, the MQB evo – thus benefiting from the hardware and software advancements of this modular platform. Among the innovations included is a new version of Travel Assist. This system allows for automatic lane changes, as well as reacting with even greater anticipation to speed limits.

For the first time, the new T-Roc also includes systems such as Park Assist Pro, which uses the memory function to allow for fully automatic parking maneuvers over distances of up to 50 meters, and can also be controlled by smartphone to enter or exit tighter parking spaces.

In the first phase, the T-Roc will be available with two versions of the eTSI 1.5-liter engine, with 116 and 150 hp and 220 and 250 Nm of maximum torque respectively, along with a seven-speed automatic transmission and a 48V system that provides an additional 19 hp, always in temporary mode.

Subsequently, two full hybrid propulsion systems will follow, a debut in the VW group, which will always feature front-wheel drive. In the future, a T-Roc R will be available, with a 2.0 mild hybrid engine, as the most powerful variant of the range, and also a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
