Novo VW Golf GTI Clubsport será o Golf de tração dianteira mais potente de sempre

VW has revealed that it will present a new version of the Golf GTI Clubsport at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring on June 1st. The new front-wheel drive version promises to be the most powerful of all time, and will feature a series of technological updates.

The German brand did not reveal technical details of the new GTI Clubsport, however, they did mention that the model will have “powerful steering and high-performance sport suspension”.

It is worth noting that the model launched in 2020 had a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, capable of delivering 300 hp, coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Aesthetically, the new GTI Clubsport has gained a redesigned front, with the illuminated VW emblem, along with a new LED technology light signature.

Already at the rear, there is a spoiler placed at the end of the roof, new taillights, and a rear panel identical to the one used by the Golf R. In addition, this Golf GTI Clubsport uses a diffuser that opens the two exits of the Akrapovic exhaust system.

The VW “hot hatch” comes standard with 19-inch “Queenstown” alloy wheels, with optional forged 19” “Warmenau” wheels available, which are even lighter, weighing only 8 kg.

Inside, there is a highlight for the screen of the new infotainment system that features Chat GPT, along with a new instrument panel.

VW also revealed the GTI Clubsport 24h destined for competition and will compete in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, featuring high power and powered by a new fuel, bioethanol, developed by Shell and reducing CO2 emissions by around 40%.

The engine is an updated version of the 2.0 TSI that delivers 343 hp and 450 Nm of torque, sending power to the front wheels. Despite being equipped with an enhanced aerodynamic package, the Clubsport 24h has a top speed of 270 km/h and a weight limited to 1170 kg.

The competition model will race with the number 50, in homage to the 50 years of the Golf.
