Novo Taycan Turbo GT é o Porsche de produção em série mais potente de sempre

Porsche has revealed that the new Taycan Turbo GT and Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package are the most powerful production models in the history of the German brand, announcing over 1000 hp.

In combination with various lightweight construction and aerodynamic measures, these electric GT sports cars raise the bar in terms of driving dynamics.

Equipped with a more powerful inverter on the rear axle that uses silicon carbide as a semiconductor material allowing the all-wheel drive system with two motors to deliver a standard power of 777 hp, which can reach 1092 hp with Launch Control.

When the Attack Mode is activated, through a button, up to 160 hp of additional power is available for 10 seconds. The Attack Mode is based on the Push-to-Pass function of the Taycan2 models. The system is optimized for circuit driving and works similarly to the single-seaters that Porsche uses in the Formula E World Championship. When activated, this function has a countdown timer on the instrument panel and has a dynamic animation on the speedometer.

With these numbers, the Taycan Turbo GT only needs 2.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and is capable of reaching a top speed of 290 km/h.

The inverter is the key component for controlling the electric motor. In both versions of the Taycan Turbo GT, inverters with a maximum current of 900 amperes are used on the rear axle. These provide even more power and torque than the 600 ampere inverter of the Taycan Turbo S. In both versions, the maximum torque is up to 1340 Nm, and the range of the Taycan Turbo GT models is up to 555 km, according to the WLTP cycle. Porsche reduced the weight of the Taycan Turbo GT by up to 75 kg compared to the Taycan Turbo S, and for this, they used various carbon elements. Carbon fiber is used in the B-pillar trims, the upper frames of the exterior mirrors, the side skirt inserts, among other components. The CFRP bucket seats, a lightweight trunk, and the elimination of the “soft close” function of the trunk also allow for weight savings.

The Taycan Turbo GT comes standard with the dynamic package. This includes the Porsche Active Ride suspension with specific GT tuning. In dynamic driving situations, this tuning ensures a more enhanced connection to the road by benefiting from a balanced wheel load distribution. Additionally, the equipment package includes special Performance Summer tires. These are mounted on 21-inch forged wheels. The exclusive Turbo GT wheels have sculpted relief arms which save weight and, at the same time, allow for more effective ventilation of the lightweight ceramic brakes.

The Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package is even more enhanced and performance-focused, with Porsche announcing that this sports car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 2.2 seconds, making this two-seater model one-tenth of a second faster than the Taycan Turbo GT. The top speed is 305 km/h.

Additional aerodynamic measures include air deflectors on the lower part of the body and a new front diffuser. At the rear, the model with the Weissach Package features a fixed rear wing with a carbon finish. In this version, the total downforce is 220 kg.

The removal of all equipment that is not necessary for track driving allowed to reduce about 70 kg compared to the Taycan Turbo GT without the Weissach Package.

Instead of the usual rear seat system, there is a lightweight carbon lining, custom-made, with a storage compartment behind the front driver and passenger seats.

The GT interior package with Race-Tex elements in Black is offered as standard. On the front passenger side, the ‘Weissach Package’ logo is present. Interior packages in Volt Blue and GT Silver are also available for this version.

Porsche has already announced that the prices for the Taycan Turbo GT and Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package start at €252,795.
