Novo Renault 5 E-Tech Electric já tem lista de espera com mais de 50 mil pedidos

The new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is expected to arrive in the national market in the last quarter of the year, but the truth is that the historic model of the French brand is generating huge expectations.

Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of Renault, revealed in an interview with ” Automotive News Europe” that the new 100% electric model already has an extensive waiting list.

“We have a waiting list of 50,000 people. We will open reservation requests in May and the first deliveries will take place in September or October. The problem is not to see if we have customers – the challenge is to have a smooth growth and be able to deliver the new Renault 5 to the first customers by October,”, added Fabrice Cambolive.

With only 3.92 m in length, the new Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric fits between the Twingo (30 cm shorter) and the Clio (9 cm longer). It is the first vehicle entirely designed on the AmpR Small, the new Ampere platform dedicated to electric vehicles in the B segment. This makes it a unique vehicle with real competitive advantages, including a flat floor, long wheelbase (2.54m), optimized interior space and trunk capacity (326 liters), lower center of gravity, and reduced weight (less than 1,500kg).

At the start of commercialization, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric will feature a 150 hp electric motor powered by a 52 kWh battery. And, later on, the more affordable versions, with 95 or 120 hp motor, always in combination with the 40 kWh battery.

The most powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 150 km/h.

The 52 kWh battery allows a range of up to 400 km, while the 40 kWh one announces 300 km between charges, which can be done at stations with up to 100 kW of power.
