Mercedes-Benz will present an important novelty aimed at the light commercial vehicle segment and passenger derivatives next March: the VLE. The promise is to combine the best of both worlds, as this model, the first of a new generation of products, is based on the electrified modular platform (VAN.EA), designed for optimizing energy efficiency, but also to serve different types of vehicles (in terms of usage capacities and formats).
The VLE is set to have its world premiere on March 10 in Stuttgart, where the star’s headquarters is located, which assures that it will combine typical characteristics of its sedans, such as comfort and dynamics, with the versatility typical of multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs). The German brand also announces the availability of various interior configurations (with the highest capacity variant offering eight seats).
The VLE is intended for large families and businesses engaged in passenger transport with refinement (shuttles). Details are unknown, but it is believed that this proposal will utilize a high-capacity battery for a range of over 500 km, and an 800 V electrical architecture, similar to what is already found in passenger models based on the MMA platform, such as the new CLA.
