Nova geração do Suzuki Swift chega com novo design e mais tecnologia

Suzuki presented the fourth generation of the Swift, the iconic urban model of the Japanese brand evolved into a sophisticated and elegant compact car, maintaining the aesthetic principles that have contributed to building the image of one of the most successful proposals in the Hamamatsu brand, which since its launch in 2004 has already accumulated millions of units sold.

In this way, the new generation of the Suzuki Swift presents itself with a minimally altered exterior image, highlighting the redesigned and more square front lighting, with L-shaped daytime running lights, as well as a reformulated piano black front grille. On the side, the muscular contour and the floating roof design stand out.

As for the exterior colors, the Japanese brand revealed that the new Swift presents a renewed range of body colors, with 9 monochromatic options and 4 two-tone options with black roof and pillars, including new colors such as Frontier Blue Pearl metallic and Cool Yellow metallic.

With dimensions very similar to its predecessor, the new Swift measures 3.86 m in length, 1.73 m in width, 1.49 m in height, and 2.45 m in wheelbase.

Inside, the new generation of the Swift debuts a new 9” central screen that integrates with smartphones, both for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Wi-Fi and USB; as well as voice recognition and music playback via Bluetooth, in addition to displaying information about the vehicle’s status.

In addition, a two-tone (black and light gray) surrounding instrument panel, combined with satin silver details, gives the interior a sporty and dynamic look. Also noteworthy is the trunk, which now has a capacity of 265 liters, which can reach 980 liters with the seats folded down.

In terms of suspension, the new Swift is equipped with a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, with 12V SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) Mild-Hybrid technology, a system that converts kinetic energy generated during deceleration, stores it in the lithium-ion battery, and assists the engine during acceleration to achieve greater fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. However, Suzuki did not reveal more technical specifications of the new engine, as well as the transmission, only stating that the new engine offers improvements in all its characteristics, combining greater fuel economy and reduced emissions, with higher low-speed torque for better responsiveness and overall performance.

Confirmed is that the new Swift makes use of a 4X4 AllGrip Auto traction system, which provides safer driving on slippery or snowy surfaces. With this 4×4 viscous coupling system, the engine torque is automatically distributed to the rear wheels when loss of grip is detected on the front axle.

In terms of safety, the fourth generation of the Suzuki Swift is equipped with millimeter-wave radars, a monocular camera, and an ultrasonic sensor, all with the aim of ensuring better performance of the Suzuki Safety Support ADAS package, which also includes an evolution of the Dual Sensor Brake Support, capable of detecting the approach not only of cars but also of bicycles, motorcycles, and pedestrians.

Also available is an omnidirectional monitor camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
