Nova geração do Honda Prelude vai chegar à Europa

Honda has confirmed that the sixth generation of the Prelude will arrive in Europe, and promises to provide “driving pleasure” through a balance between driving dynamics and fuel efficiency.

The original Prelude made its debut in Europe 45 years ago and served as a showcase for Honda’s exciting cutting-edge technology for 5 generations until 2001.

The new model, which was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival in the UK last July, promises a hybrid version, which the Japanese brand says “embodies Honda’s long-term commitment to electrification in an elegant and dynamic model”.

“The new Prelude not only marks the latest chapter in our ever-evolving hybrid history, but it is also the product of 25 years of pioneering hybrid research and development. The goal is to ensure that this model maintains its sporty DNA, seamlessly combining the efficiency and environmental advantages of electrified driving with an exciting driving experience – freeing drivers from their daily lives with greater driving pleasure,” said Tomoyuki Yamagami, chief engineer and leader of major projects at Honda Motor.

In addition, the new generation of the Prelude is seen as another important step in the scope of the Japanese brand’s strategy. “The Prelude demonstrates the ongoing importance of hybrid powertrains as part of Honda’s automotive electrification strategy – a key step towards our commitment to have 100% of new vehicle sales be electric or hydrogen fuel cell by 2040,” concluded Tomoyuki Yamagami.
