Tributo Italiano: primeira série especial da Alfa Romeo em Portugal desde €71 800

Alfa Romeo confirmed that the next generation of the Giulia will transition to the more popular segment in Europe, thus no longer presenting itself as a sedan but rather as an SUV-style model.

The confirmation was made this week by Alfa Romeo’s CEO, Santo Ficili, who in an interview with the French “L’Argus” made it clear that the future Giulia will adopt “a new design and a new type of body.”

After sharing details about the upcoming Stelvio and Giulia models, Ficili put an end to rumors about the new generation of the Giulia, explaining that “honestly, at this moment, I don’t see a future for a Giulia because there is no demand for sedans. Today, the Giulia is the Tonale.”

Admitting to being a fan of the model from the Turin brand, Santo Ficili pointed to market conditions as the main argument for this change. “The Giulia is a fantastic car, even now. But we have to follow market demand, and current customers want SUVs. In that sense, we have to sell cars.”

The new Giulia will be built on the new STLA Large platform, so it will not share either the platform or the electric powertrain with the Peugeot 408. However, the presentation of the Giulia is still a while away, expected to be in a little over a year, that is, in 2026. Until then, Alfa Romeo’s focus will be on the new generation of the Stelvio, which will debut the new STLA Large platform in Europe, as well as the STLA Brain technology and new electric engines.

Just like the Giulia, the Stelvio will also be produced at the Cassino factory in Italy, with its debut expected in the spring and production set to begin in July.
