Porsche continues to develop its electric mobility strategy that goes beyond just four wheels. In collaboration with the Austrian recreational boat manufacturer, Frauscher, the German brand has now revealed a new electric boat that shares its powertrain with the electric Macan Turbo.
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom is a revised version of the 850 Fantom Air, which the two companies unveiled last year, featuring a closed bow and cockpit, set to be presented this January at the Düsseldorf International Boat Show.
However, the company is already accepting reservations for a First Edition that will be limited to 25 units. This First Edition will feature a Porsche-infused color palette, including an Oakgreen Metallic Neo exterior and a Truffle Brown interior with contrasting orange stitching.
Additionally, this Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom comes with a Porsche steering wheel, an instrument panel similar to that of a German brand model, wooden finishes, a 12’’ infotainment system, and a screen for the front passenger. Other highlights include ambient LED lighting, rear underwater lights, and an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity.
The 100% electric boat measures 8.67 meters in length and uses a 100 kWh battery that powers a 544 hp electric motor, allowing it to reach speeds of approximately 49 knots, or 90 km/h. Frauscher has revealed that the range of this fully electric boat is 45 km at a cruising speed of 41 km/h.
“Just like our sports cars, this boat offers a unique experience and extraordinary performance. As a sleek ‘day cruiser’ with an innovative and powerful propulsion system, it sets new standards in the maritime world,” said Lutz Meschke, Vice President and Member of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.
For the record, the new Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom is significantly more expensive than the Porsche Macan Turbo, with a starting price of €572,934.
