After revealing the revamped Q8, Audi has now presented the two top-of-the-line models, the RS Q8 and the Performance variant, the most powerful versions of the German brand’s SUV.

Both versions of the Audi RS Q8 are powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which, in the case of the base model, produces 592 hp of power and 800 Nm of maximum torque between 2200 rpm and 4500 rpm.

These numbers are enough to achieve an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reach a electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The RS Q8 Performance version aims to satisfy all those who enjoy greater excitement and for that it presents itself with 632 horsepower and a maximum torque of 850 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h.

Audi makes it clear that the engine powering the RS versions of the Q8 is the most powerful production combustion engine in its history and, in addition to the changes made to the engine, the RS Q8 Performance also has a specific exhaust system that emits a personalized sound.

The power of both models is transmitted to all four wheels through an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission and a permanent Quattro all-wheel drive system. In addition, both models are equipped with a mechanical center differential and an adaptive air suspension that allows for height adjustment of up to 90 mm.

The two sportier versions of the Q8 RS are also equipped with an active electromechanical stabilizer system, consisting of two electric motors, which reduces body roll. Additionally, the RS Q8 models come standard with a four-wheel steering system.

The Audi has also announced that the RS Q8 is equipped with a braking system composed of 420 mm discs on the front axle, with 10-piston calipers at the front and 370 mm discs on the rear axle. The RS Q8 Performance version features standard carbon-ceramic discs measuring 440 mm at the front and 370 mm at the rear. The more muscular variant is equipped with exclusive 23” alloy wheels, which Audi claims are lighter than the standard 22” wheels.

Visually, the new RS Q8 and RS Performance are identical, differing from the base version with more voluminous bodywork, a new honeycomb grille, and slightly retouched front and rear sections. Both versions are equipped with matrix LED headlights and customizable OLED taillights.

From an aesthetic point of view, both models offer new options of metallic body paint: Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue, and Chili Red. The RS Q8 features glossy black details, such as mirror caps, front lip, window frames, and rear diffuser. The Performance variant, on the other hand, has carbon matte mirror caps and front spoiler, complemented by a matte gray rear diffuser.

Inside, the updated digital instrument panel stands out with its 12.3″ display, while the infotainment system uses a 10.1″ screen. There is also a third screen to control the 8.6″ climate control system.

In addition, Audi offers three RS packs in red, gray, and blue for the RS Q8 and RS Q8 Performance, which all feature a Alcantara-covered steering wheel, Dinamica microfiber central console, and perforated sports seats.
