Bentley has built fame and fortune by manufacturing some of the most luxurious cars in the world. A standard of quality and refinement that it now brings to the world of boating: the Contest 67CS is a spectacular 20-meter sailboat with interiors designed by the brand’s styling department in Crewe.
Designed in collaboration with Contest Yachts for a prominent and distinguished clientele, the team in charge of customizing this luxury vessel relied on techniques and materials used in the Continental GT or Bentayga. In fact, Bentley used the technique of hand cross-stitching throughout the yacht’s interior – the same technique it normally uses on the steering wheels of its most exclusive vehicles. In other sections, the boat features the same diamond-quilted leather that typically covers seats in vehicles like the Flying Spur.
But in addition to the techniques, the furniture pieces are also sourced from the brand, such as the Malvern Chairs, which are part of Bentley Home’s catalog, featuring pieces designed in homage to luxury cars. To ensure the most harmonious layout, Bentley used prototyping methods such as 3D printing, as it was possible to guarantee the perfect fit during the assembly phase by simulating elements like the sofa. The price of the Contest 67CS with Bentley-customized interiors has not yet been disclosed.
