The high-performance Mustang now officially boasts an astonishing 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque from its 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, making it the most powerful production Mustang in history. Ford achieved these jaw-dropping numbers by equipping the Mustang GTD with a smaller supercharger pulley and enhancing both the intake and exhaust systems. This fine-tuning, combined with the debut of a dry-sump oil system—a first for the Mustang—enabled engineers to push the engine’s redline to a sky-high 7,650 rpm, offering a full-throttle experience like no other.
The Mustang GTD’s handling is equally as impressive, thanks to its near-perfect 50-50 weight distribution. This balance is achieved through a rear-mounted eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle gearbox.
