When Ferrari launched the Purosangue, it made it clear that it was not entering the SUV segment like the others. It even rejected the very term, preferring to call it a “FUV” — Ferrari Utility Vehicle. Regardless of the designation, the model quickly proved that it could combine pure performance with versatility in a rare way.

Now, the Italian brand has decided to take another step. And, as expected, it was not in power — it was in how the car behaves.

A fine-tuning, not a revolution

The new Handling Speciale package does not transform the Ferrari Purosangue into a different model. But it fine-tunes what was already one of its greatest qualities: the dynamics.

Ferrari's approach has been clear from the beginning — to improve response and precision without compromising the grand touring character that defines the model. It is not about making the Purosangue more radical. It is about making it more effective.

Less movement, more control

The main intervention was made in the active suspension.

The engineers recalibrated the system to reduce body movements by about 10%. It may seem like a modest figure, but in a car of this size and weight, that difference translates into a feeling of greater control, especially in more demanding driving.

The objective is not only to improve cornering behavior but also to increase the driver's confidence — something essential in a model that aims to offer performance close to that of a sports car, despite its architecture.

Faster gear shifts when it matters

Another area where Ferrari decided to intervene was in the transmission.

Gear shifts become faster and more incisive in the more sporty modes, such as “Race” or “ESC Off,” and also when the engine exceeds 5,500 rpm in manual mode. This change enhances driver engagement and brings the Purosangue even closer to the typical Ferrari experience.

Even the interior sound has been adjusted, in an attempt to intensify the emotional connection to the car.

Subtle details, but with intention

Visually, the Handling Speciale package does not radically alter the design but introduces elements that distinguish this version.

The new wheels with diamond finish, the carbon fiber details, and the matte black exhausts create a slightly more technical and refined image. The darkened rear emblem and the specific identification inside complete the package.

Nothing is excessive — but everything is considered.

The V12 remains intact

It is important to emphasize what has not changed.

The heart of the Purosangue continues to be the 6.5-liter atmospheric V12, with 715 hp. An engine that, by itself, already defines the character of the model and that Ferrari decided not to alter.

It is a significant decision at a time when the industry is rapidly moving towards electrification. In the Purosangue, Ferrari continues to bet on a more traditional experience, where the sound and response of the engine still play a central role.

An SUV that still does not want to be an SUV

The Purosangue was never conceived as a conventional SUV. And this package reinforces that idea.

Instead of focusing on more power or impressive numbers, Ferrari chose to work on how the car behaves. It is a more subtle approach, but also more coherent with the brand's philosophy.

A luxury that is not for everyone

There is no official indication of the price of the Handling Speciale package, but it will hardly be affordable. Considering that the Purosangue starts at prices above 400 thousand dollars, this type of configuration will inevitably be reserved for a very specific audience.

But that has always been Ferrari's positioning.

Conclusion

The Handling Speciale does not change the Purosangue — it enhances it.

In a segment where many models seek to impress with numbers, Ferrari chooses a different path: to improve the driving experience, without compromising what already works.

It is a discreet but revealing evolution.

Because, deep down, it continues to show that, even in an SUV, Ferrari never stops being Ferrari.
