The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marks the end of the Formula 1 season and, as usual, is marked by farewells – despite the relative stability in the field.
The only question mark is around Williams: Logan Sargeant still does not have a guaranteed future, and may or may not have his last race for the team in Yas Marina this weekend.
The most significant “goodbye” will be from Alfa Romeo. After six seasons as the main sponsor of Sauber, it leaves the Hinwil team as it paves the way for a partnership with Audi – which begins in 2026. Therefore, the Abu Dhabi GP will be the last, for now, with the Alfa Romeo image present in the field.
AlphaTauri is also “saying goodbye” in its current form. Although nothing will change in the structure, not even in terms of drivers, the identity will change to a name yet to be announced – it is speculated that it will be Racing Bulls. What is certain is that the name of the Red Bull group’s clothing brand will disappear. And speaking of AlphaTauri, after more than 15 years, team principal Franz Tost will retire.
The other situation is Aston Martin’s. Although the name of the British manufacturer is expected to remain, one of the main title sponsors – Cognizant – will abandon the project. Therefore, the team’s designation is expected to become Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team.
