The change in the oil supplier for Stellantis could push more than 500 workers into unemployment in Italy.
According to the local union, Selenia, an Italian brand owned by Petronas, lost the race to supply oil to Stellantis in favor of the French company Total, and this situation leaves Selenia in a difficult position.
It is worth remembering that Selenia was once part of the Fiat group, before the emergence of Stellantis, having even marketed products under the name “Fiat Oil”.
According to the local union, Petronas has already announced in a meeting with workers the end of the “historic” contract, warning that the situation could jeopardize 450 jobs at the company’s headquarters in Fiat’s hometown, Turin, and another 70 jobs in Naples, in southern Italy.
