Alpine A290 traz pneus da Michelin desenvolvidos sob medida

Michelin has announced that it was the brand chosen by Alpine for the exclusive supply of tires for the new 100% electric A290.

In this way, Michelin developed a range of three specific tire types, two for summer and one for winter, all 19’’ and meeting all energy efficiency conditions to maximize the vehicle’s range, grip, and road behavior, while maintaining the brand’s identity signals from Dieppe.

For each of the three tires developed for the Alpine A290, Michelin specifically worked on the rigidity of the structure and sidewalls, as well as the tread pattern. In this way, Michelin revealed that the Pilot Sport EV tires are designed with optimized energy efficiency, capable of combining grip, durability, and range.

Another tire chosen was the Michelin Pilot Sport S5, which is sportier and designed to explore the full power of the A290 on both wet and dry surfaces.

The Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 is a winter tire that the brand claims offers a high level of grip to face the challenges posed by the rigors of winter.

It should be noted that the Alpine A290 marks the beginning of the electric era for the French brand and is the first of three models that the brand will launch by 2026 as part of its electrification strategy.

Based on the AmpR Small platform, the A290 features an electric motor with two power levels: 180 hp and 285 Nm for the GT and GT Premium versions, and 220 hp and 300 Nm for the GT Performance, GTS, and GTS Première Édition variants, a limited edition of 1955 units.

Depending on the chosen version, the throttle response varies, with the 180 hp variants accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and achieving a top speed of 160 km/h. In contrast, the top versions accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 170 km/h.

Powering the electric motor of the Alpine A290 is a 52 kWh battery, which promises a range of up to 380 km. The A290’s 100 kW DC fast charging system allows it to charge from 15% to 80% in 30 minutes, or recover up to 150 km WLTP in 15 minutes. At an AC charging point, its onboard 11 kW charger enables the vehicle to be charged from 50% to 80% in 1 hour and 20 minutes, or 70 km WLTP in one hour, or 3 hours and 20 minutes to recover from 10% to 80% charge. This charger includes a bidirectional function that allows for V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities to power a device through the charging socket.
