BYD announced the production of its 14 millionth vehicle, which happens to be a very special unit of the Song Pro, in a COP30 version, linking the Chinese manufacturer to the UN Climate Summit scheduled for November in Brazil. This model features the particularity of debuting the Super Hybrid Plug-In system, compatible with biofuel (ethanol), and developed specifically for the Brazilian market.

The technology was presented during the inauguration of the new production line at BYD’s factory in Camaçari, Brazil, where the Song Pro sold in Latin America is produced. The innovation results from collaborative work between the brand’s engineering teams in China and the South American country, and is distinguished by allowing the 1.5-liter engine to be fueled with any type of gasoline and ethanol blend.
BYD is preparing a new investment in its Brazilian factory, with the aim of doubling the installed production capacity to around 600,000 units per year. “After two years of efforts by more than 100 Chinese and Brazilian engineers, our 14th millionth car has come off the assembly line equipped with the first plug-in hybrid engine powered by biofuel. This is not just a technological advance; it is an ecological and sustainable solution, tailored for Brazil,” said Wang Chuanfu, founder and director of the Chinese manufacturer.
