A Tesla, the American electric vehicle brand, plans to increase production at its German factory by the end of the year due to strong sales recorded by the brand in the last month.
This information was provided by the director of Tesla’s production unit in the outskirts of Berlin, Germany, André Thierig, in statements to the German news agency DPA. “Currently, we have very positive sales numbers and, in this sense, we are revising our production plans upwards for the third and fourth quarters”.
It should be noted that in Germany, as in other markets in Europe, Tesla’s sales have been declining since the beginning of the year, partly due to strong competition from Chinese brands, as well as the political positions of Elon Musk.
In Germany, Tesla’s model sales fell by 39% in August and 56% in the first eight months of the year. In addition to Germany, Tesla also recorded a decline in sales in August in other European markets such as France, Belgium, Denmark, and Sweden.
However, André Thierig confirmed to DPA that the company is seeing positive signs in all markets supplied by the German production unit. “We supply over 30 markets and we are definitely seeing a positive trend”. It should be noted that Tesla’s factory in Germany is responsible for the production of the renewed Model Y.
