Tesla’s sales continue to decline sharply in Europe, with a 49% drop in the European Union (EU) during the first two months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
According to data released this Tuesday by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Elon Musk’s brand sold 19,046 vehicles in January and February, representing a market share of 1.1%. This is despite 100% electric vehicle sales in the European Union experiencing a growth of 28.4% during the first two months of 2025, with 255,489 vehicles sold and a market share of 15.2%.
Tesla’s sales have registered a slowdown in the European Union for the second consecutive month, pressured by Elon Musk’s close ties to American President Donald Trump. Additionally, the aging model lineup is also seen as a penalizing factor for the brand.
At the top of the table, Stellantis, the number two in the region, fell below 300,000 vehicles, with a market share of 16.9% for the first two months of 2025, a decrease of 17.1% compared to the previous year.
The sales leader in the EU is VW, which regained market share (27.3%), an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period last year.
