Tesla has just launched a new performance update called “Acceleration Boost” for the refreshed Model Y “Juniper”, which reportedly adds about 100 hp of power.
The new update, available through the Tesla app for a price of $2,000 (approximately €1,800), unlocks an extra power boost for the refreshed Model Y “Juniper,” reducing the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h from 4.6 seconds to 4.2 seconds. Tesla also revealed that this update is available for the previous Model Y as well.
This update comes at a time when Tesla is expanding the availability of the new Model Y following the limited edition Launch Series. Currently, in the US, only the Long Range AWD version is available, as the rear-wheel drive and Performance versions are still not on the market.
Thus, the new Tesla update for the Model Y “Juniper” may very well please fans of 100% electric speed and help Elon Musk’s brand reverse the trend of declining global sales.
