Tesla is calling back 46,096 units of the Cybertruck in the U.S. to repair the front panel that may detach while driving.
According to the alert issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an external stainless steel trim panel may come loose and pose a hazard on the road, increasing the risk of an accident.
This is not the first time Tesla has had to issue a recall for the Cybertruck, as last year the company called back approximately 57,300 Cybertrucks for inspections and repairs.
The majority of the recalls were due to mechanical issues, such as poorly fitted parts, the risk of the accelerator pedal getting stuck, or even a loss of driving power. The largest recall—potentially affecting over 27,000 vehicles—involved a problem with the rear camera, which was resolved with an over-the-air (OTA) update.
