Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, confirmed that the launch of the robotaxi has been delayed, citing the need for design changes.
The confirmation made by Musk on social media comes after Bloomberg revealed that Tesla would have to postpone the launch of the robotaxi until October.
The strongman of the American electric vehicle brand did not reveal the new date for the presentation of the robotaxi, which was scheduled to be unveiled on August 8, but indicated that the postponement is motivated by having “requested important changes to the front design of the vehicle, and the extra time will allow for other changes to be shown”.
I have a strong hunch that @Tesla‘s “one more thing” at the Robotaxi unveil will be the reveal of the new Tesla Roadster https://t.co/nNv5Gyq3rC pic.twitter.com/DSCLFTqyCR

The American specialized press points out that this new autonomous vehicle will be built using a new platform for Tesla’s next generation of cars.
It should be noted that Musk has recently prioritized the robotaxi project, leaving behind the development of a 100% electric, low-cost model of Tesla.
In addition, the Tesla CEO has made it clear recently that the “Full Self Driving” system will allow a fleet of robotaxis to generate income for the company and Tesla vehicle owners, utilizing the electric vehicles when they are parked.
