Fábrica da Tesla em Berlim alvo de sabotagem

Tesla is preparing to lay off about 15,000 people, more than 10% of its workforce, according to an email sent to the entire company by CEO Elon Musk.

The information revealed by the website “Electrek” indicates that in the message sent to employees, Musk mentioned that, in preparation for the “next phase of growth”, it is important for the electric car manufacturer to seek “cost reductions and increased productivity”.

“As part of this effort, we conducted a comprehensive review of the organization and made the difficult decision to reduce the workforce by over 10% globally”, Musk added.

The announcement comes days after Tesla announced an 8.5% drop in sales in the first quarter of the year. The American brand will release its first-quarter financial results on April 23.

It is worth noting that in recent weeks, Elon Musk’s company has significantly lowered prices in North America to stimulate demand and reduce vehicle inventory.
