Despite the controversy surrounding the Tesla factory in Germany in recent times, the American electric car brand has now received authorization for the expansion of the production unit.
Local authorities in Gruenheide, on the outskirts of Berlin, have given the green light for the growth of the Tesla factory, with the authorization of environmental authorities still pending.
The expansion of the Tesla factory in Germany is part of the electric vehicle manufacturer’s plans to double the capacity of the site to 100 gigawatt-hours of battery production and 1 million vehicles per year.
It is worth noting that in recent times, environmental groups have protested against Tesla’s intention to expand its production unit, as it is located in a protected forest area.
