Something is not right in Elon Musk’s “kingdom,” as besides the decline in Tesla’s global sales, the American electric vehicle brand is facing the departure of a significant number of directors.
The most recent case is that of Piero Landolfi, Tesla’s director of services for the North American market, who left the electric vehicle brand after nearly nine years with the company.
On social media, Landolfi wrote that leaving Tesla was difficult due to the “first principles thinking and the mindset of getting things done”.
Landolfi now joins the artificial intelligence (AI) robotics company Nimble as vice president of operations, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The departure of Tesla’s director of services is the latest in a series of exits from the electric vehicle manufacturer, joining Troy Jones, Tesla’s head of sales in North America, who left in July after 15 years with the company.
Other key figures who have left include Omead Afshar, a confidant of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who was responsible for sales and production operations in North America and Europe.
Milan Kovac, head of Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot team, announced his departure in June, along with the director of software, David Lau.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk’s company recorded the worst quarterly sales decline in over a decade and a profit that fell short of Wall Street’s targets in July.
