The American electric vehicle brand, Tesla, has seen better days, and the backlash against Elon Musk due to the Tesla strongman’s support for far-right parties in Europe is making headlines again.
In France, a group of customers from the American brand is demanding the termination of long-term rental contracts and reimbursement for “direct and concrete” damages suffered due to the brand’s association with Musk’s activities in the Trump administration and his support for far-right parties.
The group of customers, which according to “France24,” has engaged the services of a Parisian law firm, is demanding that the Paris commercial court order the termination of the rental contracts and that legal costs be reimbursed.
The lawsuit against Tesla and Elon Musk comes at a time when the American electric vehicle brand has seen sales in the European Union plummet since the beginning of the year, which analysts attribute in part to Musk’s political activities.
“Because of Elon Musk’s actions… Tesla vehicles have become political symbols and now seem to be true ‘totems’ of the far-right, much to the dismay of those who acquired them with the sole aim of owning an innovative and eco-friendly vehicle”, said the statement from the lawyers of the customers who filed the complaint.
