The environmental authorities of the German state of Brandenburg have now given the green light for the expansion of the Tesla factory, located in Gruenheide, near Berlin.
This authorization follows another one already issued by the local authorities of Gruenheide, for the expansion of the factory of the American electric vehicle manufacturer to double the capacity of the site to 100 gigawatt-hours of battery production and 1 million vehicles per year.
According to “Automotive News Europe”, the approval of the German authorities for the expansion of the Tesla factory will allow, in the first phase of the project, the creation of an asphalted logistics area, and the modernization of the area dedicated to pressing.
It should be noted that in recent times, environmental groups have protested against Tesla’s intention to expand its production unit, as it is located in a protected forest area.
