TELO Trucks recebe apoio para produzir pick-up elétrica

Electric mobility brings with it projects that could somehow remain on the shelf if it weren’t for the investment in fully electric vehicles.

The most recent case is that of the startup TELO, a Californian company, which has just announced that it has secured support of USD 20 million, around more than € 17 million, for the project to create a five-seater electric pick-up for all services.

The company announces that the pick-up will feature two electric motors, with a combined power of 507 hp, allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds and a maximum speed of 200 km/h.

The 106 kWh battery with cylindrical cells from Samsung allows for a range of up to 560 km and can be charged from 20% to 80% capacity in just 20 minutes, with fast charging.

Furthermore, the TELO pick-up features a cargo bed approximately 1.5 meters long, which, according to the American brand, can have various uses, and the cabin can accommodate up to eight occupants, adding a rear cover. Thanks to a door that connects the cabin to the cargo bed, the brand assures that it can transport a surfboard measuring 2.74 meters in length.

Unlike conventional pick-ups with combustion engines, this pick-up will have a very small front hood and a very sloped windshield, allowing for a five-seat cabin with a ‘crew cab’ design.

Until homologation, the TELO pick-up will have to go through several critical stages; however, the company intends to manually produce the first 500 units by the end of 2025 and subcontract another 10,000 units to a production company in 2026.
